Ashadhi Ekadashi was celebrated on 5th July, 2017 during assembly. Std 4 students sang a Abhang and gave information on it. After the song Palakhi Procession was taken from courtyard and along the ground. Selected children were dressed as Warkaris. Children also chanted ‘Vitthal Vitthal’ during the procession. Prasad was distributed. The motive behind the celebration was to make our children aware of our rich culture and tradition.
Ramzan Id was celebrated on Friday 23rd June 2017. The students of Std IV B presented a skit, through which the information related to the festival was given. The display of information about the special food, clothes and importance of Id was put up. The students were briefed about the festival in the Assembly.
Gurupournima was celebrated on Monday 10th July 2017. Students of Std IVB enthusiastically participated and presented skits on – Ekalavya and Guru Dronacharya and Sachin Tendulkar and Achrekar sir. Children also expressed their views in the Assembly. A wonderful display of charts and 3D models was put up by the students.
Raksha Bandhan was celebrated on Friday, 4th August 2017. Children talked about the importance of Raksha Bandhan in the assembly and tied ‘rakhi’ to one another. A display of colourful pictures and information was put up. As a part of the Raksha Bandhan Celebration, the children of S.P.M. Primary donated various stationary items to the underprivileged children. The donated gifts were handed over to the Sakal Foundation.
For the Family Quiz the selection round was conducted on Thursday 7th September 2017 for the students of std. 3rd & 4th. Two toppers are selected from each class. These toppers were accompanied by their one family member for the finals.
Final round of Family Quiz was conducted on Monday, 18th September 2017. There were various rounds like Bollywood, science & Maths, India, Audio & visual round, current affairs etc.
Last round was rapid fire round which was answered only by the students. It was an exciting, enjoyable enthralling experience for all. The students along with their parents had a quizzical time!

Sevak Sevika Day
On account of Gandhi Jayanti , spring cleaning activity was conducted in school on Friday 29th sept 2017. Children os Std 1 to 4 cleaned their own classes and learnt the importance of dignity of labour. On 3rd Oct sevak sevika day was celebrated.
Students of std. III & IV,Nandita Deshpande & Chinmay Joshi expressed their love and gratitude towards Maushies and kakas. They all were felicitated.A display was put up with information on Mahatama Gandhi.
Field Trip Std. III A & B
Field trip refreshes one mind and gives a wider view. It enables the children to co-relate text book matter to the things. They observe during the field trips. The children of Std. III visited Vikram printing press at Satara road on Tuesday, 26th September 2017. The children were amazed to see the process of the printing & the machinery used. The children then went to the Empress Garden and enjoyed thoroughly playing on the swings, slides etc.
Field trip Std IV A & B
On Tuesday, 26th September 2017, the students of Std IV visited the Science park at Nigadi. Students got an opportunity to view different galleries like automobile, energy and fun with science. They also witnessed a wonderful 3D show and acquired information about stars and constellations through the planetarium demo. Children were amazed to see the working models of the different automobiles from the oldest to the latest. They got a glimpse of the various forms of energy and how it is used in day-to-day life. Children were then taken to SPM school at Nigadi. It was a day full of fun and learning for them.
Diwali was celebrated on Friday, 13th October 2017.To create an awareness about eco friendly Diwali a pledge was given in the October circular. Many ideas of how to celebrate eco friendly was told to the children. Students of Class IV formed a chain holding placards with several slogans on celebrating Diwali keeping in mind the go green motto . To motivate the children all the students of the primary section wore the badge with the caption “NO CRACKERS”.
Student’ s Day was celebrated on 7th November 2017 in memory of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. Information about Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and his role in the field of Education was told in the assembly. Audio visual presentation was held for the students of Std III & IV.
Children’s Day was celebrated on Tuesday 14th November 2017. A movie was screened for the students of Std I to IV at Neelayam theatre. The movie was ‘Hawa Hawai’. It was a story of a small boy who dreamt to be a skater. Finally he achieved his goal successfully.
